Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) introduced a new category of personal computers called "Copilot+" PCs at an event on its Redmond, Washington campus. These new AI-enhanced devices, starting at $1,000 and available from June 18, can perform more AI tasks independently of cloud data centers.

One standout feature of the Copilot+ PCs is "Recall," which logs all computer activities, including web browsing and voice chats, and stores the history locally. This allows users to search their past actions, even months later.

Yusuf Mehdi, head of consumer marketing at Microsoft, announced that the company anticipates selling 50 million of these AI-enhanced PCs over the next year.

Additionally, Microsoft executives revealed that GPT-4, the latest technology from OpenAI, will soon be integrated into Copilot. The new Copilot+ PCs will be available from Microsoft and various manufacturers, including Acer and Asustek.
